REZcovery
“REZcovery”
is an award winning documentary that tackles the issue of drugs and alcohol
among Native youth. “REZcovery” examines the lives
of three native youth, who as a result of a drinking and drug binge committed
the murder of Douglas Gormley in 1999, horrifying
their community. The three youth were later convicted of the killing, and
the trial became a national news story in Canada. “REZcovery” probes deeply
into their lives, revealing tragic testimonials about growing up in native
families afflicted by abuse, drugs, and alcohol, and sending the message to
society that the war on drugs and alcohol abuse is being lost.
