Description
On the Red Road: A Walk on the Outside

This documentary focuses on four men from the Native Brotherhood as they make their way to the outside from a federal prison on Vancouver Island, B.C.  We experience the transition these men live, from prison, to a halfway house, to full parole. We follow the ups and downs of readjusting to wife/child relationships as well as social responsibilities, many of which we often take for granted.  This transition from inside a prison to living on the outside is paralleled by the carving of the Hamasta mask by one of the men from the Brotherhood. The mask consumes negative energy and is used in dance.
This sequel goes hand-in-hand with the program Within The Walls: A Story Of Healing.
